Working Student (m/f/d) Data Engineering in Karlsruhe or Hamburg

Blue Yonder enables retailers to fundamentally optimize their core processes based on artificial intelligence (AI). Founded in 2008 by former CERN researcher Prof. Dr. Michael Feindt in Karlsruhe and since then awarded with numerous technology and innovation prizes, Blue Yonder offers ambitious students an exciting entry into the professional practice of a future-oriented industry with fun and diverse development opportunities. 

To strengthen our team of highly qualified data scientists and software developers, we are looking for a committed working student (m/f/d) in Data Engineering in Karlsruhe or Hamburg for 20 h/week.

Your tasks

  • Evaluation of new technologies for our Data Engineering/Big Data Stack
  • Expansion of our existing data management systems
  • Work with technologies like Pandas and Dask and NewSQL engines like Presto or Apache Impala
  • Creation of features or bug fixes for our open source projects

Your skills

  • You are studying computer science, business informatics, mathematics or a comparable subject.
  • You have some experience with data processing in Python, e.g. Pandas or SQLAlchemy.
  • You have knowledge of tabular data and SQL.
  • You are interested in contributing to open source projects.
  • You already have good programming skills. Test-driven development is no foreign word for you.
